Cumberland Referees Association will be holding an on-ice tryout for new referees on Wednesday August 27, 6pm-7pm at Ray Friel Pad 1.

This will be the ONLY on-ice session.  If you aspire to become a referee with Cumberland for the 2025-2026 season, you MUST attend this session.

Required protective equipment for the tryout:  Skates, helmet, neck guard.

The on-ice tryout will consist of a variety of forward and backward skating drills which will be demonstrated by one of our senior officials on the ice, therefore all applicants should wear comfortable clothing, and should bring their own water bottle if they wish.

Prior to the tryout, interested applicants should access and complete the following 2 documents on our website (via the path Administration > Documents and scroll to the bottom of the page for the section on New Officials):

1. Becoming a Minor Hockey Referee in Cumberland - this document should be read and completed as instructed, and a printed copy must be submitted at the on-ice session on August 27.
   
   
2. New Referee Written Assignment - this must be completed prior to the on-ice session.  Applicants may print a copy and bring it to the on-ice session on August 27, or may email a copy to the email addresses noted in the document above.
